Dan Dailey is one of the most creative artists working in glass today. He has pushed the material to new frontiers in making it a conduit for his active imagination.
Dailey was born in 1947 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and now lives and works in his Kensington, New Hampshire studio with the help of a staff of assistants. Dailey received his Master of Fine Arts degree from the Rhode Island School of Design, the Pilchuck Glass School, and the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts and has given lectures and workshops throughout the United States, Europe, and Japan.
Dailey’s work is highly subjective, illustrative and superbly crafted. His inspiration is based on human character and the world we inhabit, with many familiar forms rendered iconic. The attributes of his work and his 40 years of achievement and recognition have made Dan Dailey a prominent artist in the history of glass, and unique among American artists.
His work is represented in over 45 museum collections around the world.
